The stadium complex has served as an important multi-sport venue since its opening. The main stadium hosted K League 1 matches from approximately 1996 to 2001, most notably as the home ground for Anyang LG Cheetahs (now FC Seoul). Since 2015, it has become the permanent home of Seoul E-Land FC in K League 2.
The baseball stadium holds particular cultural significance as one of the traditional venues for the historic “Yon-Ko-Jeon” rivalry series between Yonsei University and Korea University, hosting these annual baseball games that attract national attention.
The indoor ice rink has accommodated professional and national-level competitions including Korea Ice Hockey League matches and domestic short track speed skating events. Beyond organized sports, the complex regularly hosts public sports festivals, school athletic meets, and occasional community events.
Renovation History and Current Status
No major structural renovations or capacity expansions have been documented since the complex’s original construction in 1989. The consistent capacity figures across decades of records suggest the facilities have maintained their original structural design. Regular maintenance and operational upgrades are performed as needed to meet safety standards and professional league requirements, particularly to accommodate its primary tenant, Seoul E-Land FC.
The complex is currently managed as a functional public sports facility rather than a frequently modernized elite venue, emphasizing accessibility and practical use for community sports and professional football at the second-division level.
The complex represents a successful model of integrated public sports infrastructure that has served multiple generations of athletes and spectators while adapting to changing community needs.
