With the rapid development of more efficient lighting, the European Union began phasing out incandescent light bulbs in 2009.
The United States, Canada, Australia, China and many countries in Asia and Latin America have also phased out or banned incandescent bulbs. These changes are estimated to save each country millions of dollars a year in switching to energy efficient lighting.
According to the U.S. department of energy, the rapid adoption of LED lights will save $265 billion over the next 20 years. The shift will also help eliminate the need to build 40 new power plants and save hundreds of millions of tons of greenhouse gases entering the atmosphere.
1. Long service life of LED reduces the replacement frequency
First, LED lights last longer than any other source of light. LED lights have an estimated life span of more than 80,000 hours, CFLS last only 8,000 hours. Not to mention short-term incandescent bulbs that last only 1,000 hours. This means that LED lights last 10,000 days, or about 27 years, longer than their closest competitors. You may need to replace the regular incandescent bulb 80 times per LED change.
2.Low operation cost of LED lights
Any other lighting source costs more to run than LED lights. Therefore, there is no doubt that they are more effective and less expensive in the long run. Another non-negligible aspect is energy consumption. If you use an incandescent lamp for 4 years, 8 hours per day, this will cost you about $100. But if you use an LED in the same period – this will cost you as little as $4 to $8. How much money can we save? Save up to $96 per LED light per year. We’re talking about a single light bulb here. In any home, utility, stadium where more than one light bulb is switched on at a longer time of day, the cost difference is certainly worth considering. Yes, LED cost more to buy, but the overall cost is lower than other types of lights.
3.Without heat pollution
LED lighting has a unique working mechanism, which can convert more than 90% of energy into light rather than heat. So LED lights save energy in two ways – the light itself and the air conditioning.
Mecree LED lights, high energy efficiency (130 to 150 lm/w), long service life (80,000 hours), durability (IP67, impact and corrosion resistance) and high quality lighting (anti-glare, no flicker), are a great choice for outdoor and indoor high power energy saving lighting.
EXISTING LIGHTING IN NUMBERS
Total power usage: 18,000 watts
Running hours: 1,825 hours of power on time per year
Current CO 2 emissions: 14,000kg (14 tonnes)
NEW LIGHTING IN NUMBERS
Total power usage: 10,000 watts
Running hours: 1,825 hours of power on time per year
Maintenance cost over 5 year warranty period: £ 0
Annual running cost savings: Around 65% decrease
Total savings over lamp life: £ 121,000
CO 2 reduction per year: 6,930 (6.93 tonnes)
The new MECREE LED external lighting solution will save about 65% of the operating cost compared to the previous one. If it did, it would incur minimal maintenance costs and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 6.93 tons per year. Over the lights 100000 hours lifespan, the overall savings would be more than £121,000.
