Arena do Grêmio is a state-of-the-art football stadium located in Porto Alegre, southern Brazil. Construction began in 2010, and the venue officially opened on 8 December 2012 with a match between Grêmio and HSV (Hamburger SV) from Germany. Grêmio won 2–1, with André Luiz Barreto Silva Lima scoring the first goal in front of 60,000 spectators.
The stadium is one of the largest sports venues in Brazil by capacity and serves as the home ground for Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense, founded in 1903. Arena do Grêmio regularly hosts domestic league matches, international competitions, and major events. The stadium is also used by the Brazil national football team for selected matches.
Home debut season: Grêmio averaged 22,000 spectators across 19 domestic league home games.
