Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadium is a football stadium located in the Kasımpaşa district of Istanbul, the birthplace of its namesake, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the 12th President of the Republic of Turkey. Originally constructed in 1975, the stadium underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2005, transforming it into a modern sporting venue.
Kasımpaşa Sports Club is one of Istanbul’s most historic sports clubs, founded in 1921 under the name “Altıntuğ.” The club went through several name changes before officially adopting its current name in 1989. Kasımpaşa holds a significant place among Istanbul’s traditional sports clubs and has established itself as a permanent presence in the Süper Lig, especially since the 2000s.
