The Bahrain National Stadium is the primary and largest football stadium in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Opened in 1982 and located in Riffa, it serves as the national arena and the dedicated home ground for the Bahrain national football team (known as Al-Ahmar – “The Reds”).
As the country’s flagship sports venue, it has been the stage for Bahrain’s most important international matches, qualifying campaigns, and historic footballing moments for over four decades.

The stadium’s sole and most important purpose is to host the Bahrain national football team. It is where the team plays all its major home fixtures:

The venue has witnessed Bahrain’s rise as a competitive force in Asian football, including their near-qualification for the 2006 FIFA World Cup and consistent appearances in the latter stages of the AFC Asian Cup.
