Vodafone Park is the modern fortress of Beşiktaş JK, rising from the hallowed ground of the club’s historic former home, the BJK İnönü Stadium. The demolition of the iconic İnönü Stadium began on June 2, 2013, and its successor was inaugurated on April 10, 2016. This new arena stands on the very same site on the European shore of the Bosphorus, making it one of the most spectacularly located football stadiums in the world.
The stadium is named via a sponsorship agreement with Vodafone, the English multinational telecommunications company.
The stadium’s location is steeped in Turkish football history:
Original Stadium: The BJK İnönü Stadium opened in 1947 and was Turkey’s first modern football stadium.
Shared Home: For decades, it was a neutral venue used not only by Beşiktaş but also by rivals Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe for major European and derby matches.
Emotional Significance: The decision to rebuild was driven by the need for modernization, but the new stadium was designed to preserve the intense, intimate atmosphere and the unparalleled view of the Bosphorus that defined the old ground.

2019 UEFA Super Cup: Vodafone Park made history by hosting the first-ever UEFA Super Cup held in Turkey on August 14, 2019. The all-English clash saw Liverpool FC defeat Chelsea FC on penalties in front of 38,000 spectators.
Beşiktaş Home Matches: Hosts Süper Lig, Turkish Cup, and UEFA Champions League/Europa League matches for the Black Eagles.
