State Farm Stadium is a modern National Football League (NFL) stadium located in Glendale, Arizona. Construction began in 2003 with a total cost of US$455 million, and the venue officially opened on 1 August 2006 as Cardinals Stadium. Between 2006 and 2018, it was known as the University of Phoenix Stadium.

The Arizona Cardinals have been tenants since the stadium’s opening in 2006. The team played its first-ever Super Bowl in 2009, drawing an average home attendance of 64,000 over eight home games that season. The Super Bowl itself attracted 70,000 spectators.
2007: Hosted an international match between United States and Mexico, attracting 62,000 spectators, the record attendance for a football match in Arizona.
2013: Hosted its first-ever match featuring Real Madrid, which defeated LA Galaxy 3-1 in front of 38,000 fans. Real Madrid was the first club in the world to surpass 100 million social media followers.
