Stadion Wilis is a modern football stadium located in Madiun, East Java, Indonesia. Its construction was a prolonged process, beginning in 1999 and culminating in its official inauguration on January 5, 2005. The stadium is named after the nearby Mount Wilis, a prominent volcano in East Java, linking the venue to the region’s natural landscape.
Built to be a contemporary sports facility, it serves as one of the primary football venues in the eastern part of East Java, known for its size and modern (for its time) amenities compared to older colonial-era stadiums.
Stadion Wilis was designed as a dedicated football stadium, a step forward from the multi-purpose athletics tracks common in older Indonesian venues.

PSIM Madiun: The local Madiun club has used Stadion Wilis as its home ground.

Persik Kediri (Secondary Home): Most notably, Persik Kediri, one of East Java’s most popular and successful clubs, has frequently used Stadion Wilis as a secondary or primary home venue for major matches, especially when their traditional home in Kediri was under renovation or deemed insufficient. Persik’s passionate “Laskar Putih Hijau” fanbase has brought significant and lively crowds to the stadium.
Stadion Wilis functions as a key regional sports infrastructure for East Java. Its location in Madiun makes it accessible for clubs and fans from surrounding cities like Kediri, Malang, and Ponorogo.
It represents the early 2000s push in Indonesia to build newer, more specialized football stadiums. While it may not have the deep historical lore of some older grounds, its modern capacity and facilities have made it a reliable and important venue for hosting:
