Stadion Miejski Widzewa Łódź serves as the modern home of Widzew Łódź, one of Poland’s most historically significant football clubs. Widzew Łódź secured their first Polish football championship title in 1981, marking the beginning of their rise as a national football power. The club is also among the earliest Polish sports organizations to surpass 100,000 followers on its primary social media platform, reflecting its strong nationwide fanbase.
The current stadium stands on the site of the original Widzew Łódź ground, which had served the club for decades. Due to aging infrastructure and increasing demand for modern facilities, the city of Łódź initiated a comprehensive redevelopment project.
