Stade Gaston-Gérard is the principal football venue in Dijon and the home ground of Dijon Football Côte-d’Or (Dijon FCO). Originally opened in 1934, the stadium has served as a long-standing sports landmark in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. It has witnessed significant moments in the development of Dijon football, including the rapid rise of Dijon FCO, a club founded in 1998 and nicknamed Les Rouges.
One of the club’s milestone events occurred on 7 August 2011, when Dijon FCO played its first-ever French top-flight match in Ligue 1.
