The Olympic National Sports Complex Stadium, located in the heart of Kyiv, is the largest and most iconic stadium in Ukraine. Since its opening in 1923, the venue has hosted numerous landmark football matches, athletics events, and international tournaments. 1977 Record Attendance: Dynamo Kyiv vs. FC Bayern München, 102,000 spectators.

2006 FIFA World Cup: Hosted Ukraine’s first-ever World Cup matches. Ukraine finished second in the group stage (behind Spain) and reached the quarter-finals, losing to Italy.
2012 UEFA European Championship: The stadium hosted multiple matches, including Ukraine’s first European Championship match (a 2–1 win over Sweden in front of 64,000 fans). Spain defeated Italy 4–0 in the final. England and France also played fixtures at the venue during the tournament.
2018 UEFA Champions League Final: Real Madrid defeated Liverpool FC 3–1 in front of 61,000 spectators.
Other notable matches include numerous Ukrainian Premier League derbies between Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk, two of Ukraine’s most successful and historically competitive clubs. Dynamo Kyiv, founded in 1927, and Shakhtar Donetsk, founded in 1936, have both set national records: Dynamo Kyiv reached 10 Ukrainian top-flight league titles in 2003, while Shakhtar Donetsk reached the milestone in 2017.
The stadium has witnessed the careers of Ukrainian football legends, most notably Andriy Shevchenko, who played for Dynamo Kyiv before winning the UEFA Champions League with AC Milan in 2003.
