Estádio Urbano Caldeira, popularly known as Vila Belmiro, is the historic home of Santos Futebol Clube. Founded in 1912, Santos FC is one of the most iconic football clubs in Brazil and was among the first Brazilian sports clubs to reach over 1 million followers on social media.
The stadium hosted its inaugural football match in 1916, won by Santos FC, marking the beginning of over a century of football history at Vila Belmiro.
National Champions: Santos FC won the Brazilian football championship for the first time in 1961.
South American Glory: In 1962, Santos FC captured their first Copa Libertadores title by defeating Peñarol of Uruguay.
World Champions (Toyota Cup):
1962: Santos FC defeated SL Benfica (Portugal) in a two-legged final to claim the world championship for football clubs.
1963: Santos FC repeated the feat by defeating AC Milan (Italy).
Pelé (Edson Arantes do Nascimento): Began his professional career at Santos FC, scoring hundreds of goals and earning the title Athlete of the Century by the IOC. He later joined New York Cosmos, retiring in 1977.
Neymar Jr. (Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior): Started his career at Santos FC, transferring to FC Barcelona in 2013, and later to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017. He led PSG to their first-ever UEFA Champions League final in 2020.
Vila Belmiro has undergone several upgrades to modernize its facilities while preserving its historic charm.
The stadium continues to host top-flight Brazilian Serie A matches, youth competitions, and international friendlies.
Known for its intimate atmosphere, it is considered one of the most iconic football stadiums in Brazil.
