The Estadio Alejandro Serrano Aguilar Banco del Austro is a historic football stadium located in Cuenca, Ecuador. Opened on 3 November 1945, the venue serves as the home stadium for Deportivo Cuenca, one of Ecuador’s most recognised football clubs. With a seating capacity of 16,000, the stadium has hosted countless domestic league matches and regional competitions.
Deportivo Cuenca was founded in 1971 and has used the stadium as its home ground since its establishment.
The club won its first Ecuadorian Serie A title in 2004, a historic achievement celebrated by thousands of fans at the stadium.
Over the decades, the stadium has hosted national league fixtures, key regional derbies, and occasional friendly matches against international clubs.
The venue also accommodates youth tournaments and community football programs, promoting local talent development in Cuenca.
