Inaugural Match
The stadium opened with a fixture between Deportivo de La Coruña and Valencia CF. On 6 May 1945, the Spain national football team played its first match at the venue, defeating Portugal 4–2.
1982 FIFA World Cup
ABANCA-RIAZOR was a host stadium for the 1982 FIFA World Cup. It hosted three group-stage matches:

Deportivo de La Coruña Achievements
