Ekimae Real Estate Stadium is a professional football stadium located in Tosu, Saga Prefecture, Japan. Opened in May 1996, the venue is best known as the long-time home ground of Sagan Tosu, one of the representative clubs from Kyushu. Owing to its central location near Tosu Station, the stadium has become a landmark sports venue in the region.
The stadium has been closely linked to the rise of Sagan Tosu from a regional club to a top-flight Japanese football institution.
In 2011, Sagan Tosu were promoted to the J1 League for the first time in their history, marking a defining moment for both the club and the stadium.
During their inaugural top-division season, the club recorded an average home attendance of approximately 11,000, reflecting strong local support and the growing popularity of professional football in Tosu.
In 2018, Ekimae Real Estate Stadium gained global attention when Fernando Torres, one of the most renowned strikers of his generation, signed with Sagan Tosu.
Torres was a member of the Spanish national team that won the 2010 FIFA World Cup, defeating the Netherlands in the final.
Before joining Sagan Tosu, he played for elite European clubs including Atlético de Madrid, Liverpool FC, Chelsea FC and AC Milan.
He won the UEFA Champions League in 2012 with Chelsea, which represented the club’s first European championship title.
