Club History: Daegu FC joined the K League 1 (top flight) in 2003, finishing in 11th place in their debut season. For years, the club struggled near the bottom of the table and played at the larger, multi-purpose Daegu Stadium (Daegu World Cup Stadium), which lacked atmosphere for smaller crowds.
A New Era: The move to their own compact, dedicated stadium in 2019 marked a turning point. It coincided with and fueled the club’s most successful period, which included winning the Korean FA Cup in 2018 (just before moving) and establishing themselves as a competitive mid-table side with ambitions for continental qualification.
