The Scottish Claymores, a former American football club, also played numerous matches at the BT Murrayfield Stadium. They played their first match at the venue in 1995. The Claymores won the World Bowl in 1996 after beating the Frankfurt Galaxy from Germany. 38,000 people attended the match, which took place in Edinburgh. The Scottish Claymores American football club was dissolved in 2004.
