Stade Le Canonnier is a historic football stadium located in Mouscron, a city in the Hainaut Province of Belgium. Originally opened in 1930, the stadium served for decades as the home ground of Royal Excel Mouscron, a club that competed in the Belgian First Division A (Jupiler Pro League) before declaring bankruptcy in 2022.
The name “Le Canonnier” comes from French, meaning “the gunner”, reflecting the traditional nickname associated with the local club and its supporters.
To meet the requirements of top-tier Belgian football, the stadium underwent several upgrades, particularly during the 1990s and early 2000s. These renovations improved spectator facilities, seating capacity, and stadium infrastructure.
