121 Financial Ballpark is a modern baseball stadium located in downtown Jacksonville, Florida, near the city’s sports and entertainment district. The venue officially opened on 4 April 2003 and was developed with construction costs totaling approximately US$34 million.
Since its opening, the stadium has primarily served as a baseball venue and is best known as the home ground of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, a Minor League Baseball club. The ballpark was designed to offer an intimate spectator experience while meeting professional baseball standards.
Although baseball is the stadium’s primary function, 121 Financial Ballpark has also been used for football (soccer) matches. The Jacksonville Armada football club played numerous home games at the venue, demonstrating its adaptability for different sporting configurations.
One of the most notable events in the stadium’s history occurred in 2015, when 16,000 spectators attended the Jacksonville Armada’s first-ever league match. The attendance exceeded the stadium’s official baseball seating capacity, highlighting strong local interest and the venue’s ability to accommodate large crowds for special events.
121 Financial Ballpark plays an important role in Jacksonville’s sporting landscape, hosting professional baseball on a regular basis while occasionally serving as a stage for major football matches and community events.
