A public park is often a place to have a picnic and relax with the family on a nice day. A public skate park is more of a high energy spot where young people go to experiment with their abilities while on wheels. Many skateboarding enthusiasts are happy to continue working their skills after dark, and this means skate parks need proper lighting.
Whether you are an indoor skate park or an outdoor park, you need LED lighting for the skate park. Outdoor skate parks should be lit recommends member tracks should be lit to an average light level of 100 lux to 200 lux average. This ensures a bright, safe and inviting area for skate boarders to practice.

A.For end-users
Most end-users will have some worry about the lighting effect and field testing are not good than our words. Then we suggest you can try samples. And some of supplier will have MOQ for order, MECREE’s MOQ is 1pcs so welcome to test only one sample. Or you can visit other projects we have done in your local.
B.For project contractor
“You know we have many different projects and we also will recommend different types of lights to our clients and they choose their favorite or cheaper and we don’t want to pay any cost to try sample by ourselves.” Most of customer will worry that. We also don’t suggest you try samples when you have no detailed idea about the projects. But if it is real project and you are familiar with the requests of your customer, the sample will be necessities. You can choose the unique and excellent ones according to your lighting business. Good products don’t need too much words and you put it on your customer, the lighting effect will be proof.
One problem is the location of the poles with lighting up skate park lighting. The pole must be installed on the periphery to ensure unobstructed passage for skaters and bmx riders. This means you must use the lighting with special optics or flood lighting to focus the light on hard-to-reach areas.
MECREE has outdoor stadium lightings with special lighting optics that allows us to reach to the center of the skate park from the perimeters. This allows us to get the light evenly distributed inside the skate park.
1. Safety first
Safety is the biggest factor in outdoor skate park lighting. Since many accidents may occur in this area due to lack of visibility, it is important to put safety in the first place when choosing a solution or planning the lighting layout. You want the lighting to be large enough to provide the safety visibility you need, while keeping in mind the possibility of light pollution. A good rule of thumb is to aim for 100-200lux on a horizontal surface to ensure the correct combination of visibility and prevent light pollution.
2. Eliminate shadows
Shadow issues should be an important factor in planning, because shadows may be widespread in areas such as ramps, railroad tracks, stairs, and pool spaces, which can bring danger to skaters. Blind spots should be avoided to solve the problem of insufficient lighting, but over-focused light spread is also a problem because they can create shadows. The solution is to focus on lighting solutions that provide a wider beam angle distribution instead of a more concentrated illumination, as well as focusing on lights with diffusers and anti-glare elements.
