Construction of the stadium began in 2013 and was completed in 2015, providing Antalya with a modern football venue.

Rüştü Reçber, former Antalyaspor goalkeeper, reached the semi-finals of the 2002 FIFA World Cup with Turkey and later signed for FC Barcelona in 2003.
Samuel Eto’o Fils, former Cameroon national team star, played for Antalyaspor and previously won the FIFA Club World Cup with FC Internazionale Milano, scoring in the final against TP Mazembe. Eto’o retired from professional football in 2019 in Qatar.
