What does LED stand for?

LED stands for Light Emitting Diode.

How LED works?

LED works by passing an electric current through a semiconducting material, typically a diode, which then emits photons (light) through the principle of electroluminescence. The diode is made up of two types of semiconducting materials, p-type and n-type, which are joined together to form a p-n junction. When power is applied to the p-n junction, the electrons in the n-type semiconductor move towards the p-type semiconductor, creating a flow of current. As the electrons move through the diode, they release energy in the form of photons, which are perceived as light. The color of the light emitted by the LED depends on the energy of the photons, which is determined by the materials used in the diode and the temperature of the junction. LEDs are available in a range of colors, including red, green, blue, and white, and can be used to produce a wide range of colors and shades by varying the brightness of the individual LEDs.

What is LED light?

LED light, or light-emitting diode (LED) light, is a type of electric light that produces light using light-emitting diodes (LEDs). LED lamps are significantly more energy-efficient than incandescent lamps and can be more energy-efficient than most fluorescent lamps. They are also much more durable and have a much longer lifespan than incandescent lamps. LED lamps require an electronic LED circuit to operate from mains power lines, and losses from this circuit can reduce the efficiency of the lamp. The driver circuit may also require special features to be compatible with lamp dimmers intended for use on incandescent lamps. The light produced by LED lamps is typically more concentrated and has a higher color temperature than incandescent lamps, resulting in a brighter, more focused light.

What is SMD LED?

SMD LED stands for Surface Mount Device (SMD) Light Emitting Diode. It is a type of LED that is mounted on the surface of a circuit board using surface mount technology (SMT) components. SMD LEDs are typically smaller and more compact than through-hole LEDs, which are mounted via holes in the circuit board. SMD LEDs are commonly used in a variety of applications, including displays, lighting, and signage. They are available in a range of colors, including red, green, blue, and white, and can be used to produce a wide range of colors and shades by varying the brightness of the individual LEDs. SMD LEDs are widely used in LED strip lights and white LED lamps.

What is black light?

A blacklight, also known as a UV-A light, Wood’s lamp, or ultraviolet light, is a lamp that emits long-wave (UV-A) ultraviolet light and very little visible light. It is often used for a variety of purposes, including curing ink, detecting fluorescence, and in bug zapper insect traps. Blacklight lamps can be designed with a violet filter material that blocks most visible light and allows through UV, resulting in a dim violet glow when operating. Alternatively, they can be designed to produce UV without the filter material, resulting in more visible light and a blue color when operating. These lamps are often used in a variety of applications, including in entomology for identifying insects, in forensic science for detecting fluorescent substances, and in theater for creating a glow-in-the-dark effect.
